SCC and CDMC to run Oxford Rally 2001The Southern Car Club and its organisational partner, the Croydon & District Motor Club, have been awarded the contract to run the Oxford Rally 2001 on 10th November for First Motorsport, the promoters of The Formula Rally Championship. Andy Moss, head of First Motorsport said; "It's a great coup to have these two clubs running the event. Although some of the stages will have been used before, I know that they have the experience to organise a rally in what is virtually virgin territory. Having experienced their organisational talents on the Rallye Sunseeker in Bournemouth, I have no doubt that they will bring the same skills to Oxford." The start and finish will be in Oxford with the stage miles being run in the surrounding area, taking in venues such as Silverstone, Cornbury Park and Hazelwood Forest. The Oxford Rally will be a round of The Formula Rally Championship for Super 1600 cars, plus it will be a round of the Ford Racing Ka Championship, Ford Racing Puma 1400 Rally Championship, Peugeot Super 106 Cup and the Volkswagen Polo Rally Championship. All registered contenders in the series above will automatically be sent a set of regulations when they are published later in the year.
