Sunseeking Dodd Victorious In South Coast Sunshine
Rallye Sunseeker - the Bournemouth based opening round of the eight round ANCRO National Rally Championship - got the series off to a cracking start under somewhat unexpectedly sunny skies. Over eighty top rally crews took the start from the Pavilion Gardens, the first stage a short asphalt blast along the sea-front before crews headed into the forests surrounding the South Coast town for a further fourteen stages. The final test returned the surviving crews back to the Pavilion Gardens stage, supported this year by Jacksons Mercedes.

Foot & Mouth Causes Rally Chaos
On the 28th February, the MSA suspended all existing permits and announced that they would issue no new permits during the Foot & Mouth crisis. The categories of event to be affected are: Autotest (including PCT), Autocross, Rallycross, Off Road, Road Rally (including Navigation, Scatter and 12-Car), Special Stage Rally, Historic Special Stage Rally and Trials.
Multi-Use (single venue) Rallies are not included in the list, but the decision is in the hands of the landowner. The Ministry of Defence announced that it would suspend all Motorsport activity on any of its land for the duration of the crisis. Although the NEM Mini Tempest stages at Longcross on April 8th is still going ahead.
The first casualties of the announcement were the opening round of the British Rally Championship, The Rally of Wales and the Malcolm Wilson Stages, a round of the BTRDA Championship. For the very latest news from the MSA log onto
