Croydon & District Motor Club members accepted our challenge and travelled to Reigate on the 10th May for an evening of darts and computer games.

Three teams, 2 SCC and one Croydon, were assembled and given a brief run-down of the rules:

1. The judge, in this case Nessa, is always right!
2. In the event of the judge being wrong, rule 1 applies!

Once that was sorted out, the games began in earnest. The competition was fierce – there were after all 8 cans of lager to play for!

It soon emerged that Ellya was about to lose his title of 'Playstation King' to a newcomer.

Chris and Steve only joined us recently, but had clearly done this before. Driving a WRC on the Rally New Zealand proved easy stuff and they soon took the fastest two stage times. Croydon, however, obviously spend their time doing much more productive things (such as drinking, etc) and were well down in this game. In fact they failed to get into the top 8 which meant Nil Points to them so far and a lot of catching up to do as SCC1 had scored 17 and SCC2 19.

So would they be any better off at Hockenheim driving a Ferrari? Well, yes was the answer to that, but only just. Once again Steve, Chris and Ellya recorded the fastest times despite attempts to put them off. Points were pretty even between the two SCC teams with Croydon coming in third.

Darts were next. The standard was not too bad although there were a few stray darts flying around the place and I think the hotel may have to redecorate around the walls next to the dartboard, but never mind. The teams were divided into four different matches with Roger, Tim, Dave and Chris scoring wins and maximum points for their teams.

Everyone involved had great fun and the overall winners were declared as SCC1, who were Ellya, Ian, Dave and Chris with 35 points. Second was SCC2, Nessa, Tim, Nick and Steve with 34 points. Third were Croydon, Keith, John, Roger and Lynn on 18 points.

Croydon have vowed to get their own back and no doubt we will be challenged in the near future. WATCH THIS SPACE!
