We have a busy time coming up; the club bar-b-que, the single venue rally, a club grass autotest and the clubs annual general meeting, all during July, August and September.

It is the first and last of these that I wish to address in this months waffle from the Chairman, and also the subject of involvement in the clubs general activities.

Over the last few months I have noticed that attendance at club nights is substantially down - why?

Is it that you are not satisfied with the social calendar?, don't you get on with your fellow members or is it that you have much better things to do?

Well, the only way that you can make it better for the majority as well as yourself, is to become part of the decision making process. JOIN THE COMMITTEE.

And yes I am concerned, the 1999/2000 year was our best for a long time in terms of total members ~ over 140 of you are part of this great and ancient car club. So why is it that only a couple of dozen (if we are lucky) turn up on Mondays?

As your Chairman, it must be my responsibility to try and make good this scenario, so talk to me, in confidence if you need to, (or write, fax, phone or e-mail).

Our key element in club life is this magazine; the current editor, Chris Morford, will be stepping down at the AGM because of business pressures so we will be looking for a new face to continue our long tradition of keeping members up to date on a monthly basis. Is this a job for you?

Finally, Saturday 29th July is our annual B.B.Q., have you bought tickets yet? At £10 per person it is a very cheap night, so come on - invite your friends and family.

That's all for now.

Rick
