Marshalling Register

For the last few seasons I have been aware that the ACSMC have been attempting to start a marshals register. Certainly on the many events where I have marshalled, whether it be a rally or a sprint meeting, I have always printed my name/address clearly on the signing-on forms. Well it looks like the ACSMC have finally moved up a gear and responded to all those marshals who provided them with a contact address and have at last formulated their own marshals register. Twenty odd years ago, I started a similar register for rally marshals, on behalf of the BMRMC - unfortunately I was unable to continue with that register, but it is still working alongside the racing marshals register to date.

I take my hat off to the ACSMC for a pioneering feat, which is mainly addressed to the many motor club members across the south-east of England - those who predominantly marshal on their own clubs' events ... maybe they would like to assist on another clubs' event but do not know who to contact because it is not published in the monthly magazine perhaps? Maybe they are blissfully unaware of the event at all? One thing IS certain - there is an awful lot of people, likewise motorsport enthusiasts, who have assisted/marshalled on events in the past and COULD marshal on many more events IF they were asked. For sure, I would love to attend more motorsport events in our local region, and would certainly marshal if asked. This is where the ACSMC register comes in. But it warrants support from you - all you need do is complete the form and send it off. Almost every event, every year, struggles to find the bare minimum of marshals. It is not a unique situation in any motor club. So it makes sense to pool your resources and hopefully ensure club members get even more from their chosen sport, whether the event on which they marshal is being organised by your motor club or another.
