The WINDSCREEN is Southern Car Club's magazine, telling the exploits of Southern's members, and providing news of social events and competition news.

Steve's Photography Wins Major Award

A photograph by Steve Andrews was the winning entry for the first round of the British Rally Championship/Michelin Rally Photo Competition. The picture is reproduced on page 13, but you really need to ask Steve to show it to you on a club night to appreciate it properly.

Steve's award is a reminder that there are many ways to enjoy motor sport and be part of it.

Firstly it's important to be a member of a club - preferably Southern - this gives you access to lots of like minded people and information. You don't have to compete either as Steve has shown. Dave Walters has written an excellent article about his trip earlier this year to Le Mans.

Marshalling is an important part of motor sport. Mike Fielding, secretary of the ACSMC is currently compiling a register of marshals and this months magazine reveals that the MSA are actively looking for timekeepers. Radio crews are also always needed and if you are interested in doing that why not speak to our Radio Officer, Neil Boxall.

Remember that the more you put into motor sport the more you will get out of it.
