DECISIONS - DECISIONS

Controversial decisions mar two recent major events - We ask why?

Two recent events have been marred by somewhat strange decisions by the organisers.

On the Vauxhall Rally of Wales the diesel golf of Neil Simpson was removed from the results mid-way through the opening leg and put into a diesel rally of its own! An odd decision bearing in mind that the organisers had accepted the entry for the Rally of Wales, issued a start number and published a list of starters. VW who had paid for the entry were naturally upset. After the intervention of the MSA the golf was reinstated.

Further controversy arose at the Silverstone Rallysprint for the Peugeot Super 106 Cup. After 3 runs a hole appeared in the track and caused some drivers to puncture. They were offered a re-run, much to the annoyance of others who had gone wide to avoid the hole, dropping time in the process. One wonders what the decision would have been if a back marker had punctured and not one of the leaders!

BUT SCC MEMBERS HAVE FUN IN THE NEW YEAR!

Southern Car Club members have been out competing on a number of recent events, the Rally of Wales, Robin Hood Stages and Bournemouth Car Club's recent event at Avon Park amongst them.

With members contesting National, Regional and local association championships the club is moving from strength to strength.
