A quick word from Vanessa Linley on the rules of Southern's Championship

Well first of all I must say a somewhat belated "Well Done" to all of last years Championship winners.

I have already started to receive some claims for the new championship year, but not enough to warrant a table yet. So please keep those claims coming in.

As you are all aware one of the main rules of the championship is that you must display 2 SOUTHERN CAR CLUB DECALS on your car whilst competing. I am out and about at many events as are my spys, so please make sure you abide by this rule. The time may come that I ask for photographic evidence of your decals . . . . . . . . . You have been warned!

Another rule of the championship is that you help at club stores on at least one occasion. Well you have all missed at least two opportunities to do this. Loading and unloading for Rallye Sunseeker. Now I want to have a little moan . . .

Southern Car Club has many young and agile members, many of who compete and need a club stores endorsement to stand any chance in the Championship, where were you all when we were loading and unloading. Also where were all the non-competitors among you, your club needed you!! All the loading and unloading was done by a group of people most of which will not see 40, or indeed 50, again. I have to say that the guys and girls who were at Perrots Farm did a sterling job and the event would have been in big trouble without them. But it is not right that it is always the same faces, what happens when they no longer want to help, oe in fact are no longer able to help? We need young blood to help, don't worry, you will be fully trained by our two top stores men. If I had my way I would change the championship rule to read"must help either load or unload at Perrots Farm for either the Rallye Sunseeker or Avon Park to get an endorsement". In fact I like that idea so much I might just put it to your committee!
