ACSMC Grass Autotest Championship 2000 |
|
|
This Championship, now starting its third year, includes several developments which aim to encourage more people to take part, and enjoy competing with members of other clubs which are active in autotests. Reflecting this, there will be a Club team award, as well as the usual individual awards, at each round and in the overall Championship. Regular updates on the events and Championship positions will also be available through your club magazines. For this year, the series will be more compact, both as regards the number of rounds, and the area they're contained in (see details below). For the individual championship results and awards, the best 4 scores from the 6 events will count, giving most drivers the opportunity of a full set of scores. For the championship Club award, different members can gain points for the same club at each of the events, up to 3 drivers each time, based on 'whoever does best' in terms of ACSMC points scored. Your Championship registration is also automatic, at the first round you enter at Nat 'B' level (this does require a competition licence, but for autotests, it only needs to be the £10 Clubman licence). The clubs who will run the rounds are currently devising, with the ACSMC, a similar format for the Regs, scoring and awards at each event. Among the points already agreed, scoring will be 'best of two runs to count'. In short, the ACSMC and the organising clubs are aiming to make this an easy and enjoyable Championship to take part in; all you have to do is enter, turn up and drive! Regs for the first event will be available via your Compsec, or write to Tim Walton at 2 Shaldon Way, Calthorpe Park, Fleet, Hants, GU13 8ET. Planned rounds and dates:
